Questions
How many African electronic music artists are on Pulse?
213 artists and collectives in 29 cities and 21 countries, as of 20 October 2026; 76 have a set that plays in the page.
How are artists checked before they are listed?
Each record comes from a research pass that fetched and matched the artist's own pages (SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Resident Advisor, Instagram and others). Links are shown only where the page was fetched and matched; sets play through the artists' own embedded players.
Why do some artists have their own page and others only a card?
A full artist page exists where the record carries enough verified material: a sourced biography plus a set that plays or two official links. A record with a sourced biography, a photograph and two sources gets a visitor page that is not yet offered to search engines, until a set or a second official link is found. Thinner records stay as cards on the hub and the city pages until they are enriched.
