Pulse
An empty Cape Town city-centre street at night, Victorian terraces under sodium lamps, the dark shape of Table Mountain above the rooftops.

Cape Town is two cities. In town the clubs sit on a few streets: Mødular on Riebeek Street, no photographs on the floor; HALO on Loop Street; Club Paradise, District and Saint Champagne in District Six, where the Afro house, amapiano and gqom live. Then from October to February the whole thing drives out of town, to an ostrich ranch, a nature reserve in the Matroosberg, a farm on the Kromrivier, a forest near Riviersonderend over New Year. Resident Advisor listed 37 upcoming events on 8 October 2026, the densest calendar in southern Africa. Rocking the Daisies 2026 was cancelled on 24 July. The City Hall is in the atlas; AfrikaBurn is 211 kilometres into the Tankwa Karoo.
