Dakar's story is the artists, not the clubs. Ibaaku's Alien Cartoon and the Neo Dakar series, Guiss Guiss Bou Bess stacking synthetic layers on sabar drumming, Ndox Electrique working from n'doep ritual chant (founded by French and Italian musicians). Ibaaku himself says the club DJs mostly play amapiano and Afro house. The seafront clubs are on the Almadies; the Médina has the Maison de la culture Douta Seck; and on 4 April 2026 a full-moon party ran from midnight to five at the foot of the Monument de la Renaissance africaine on the Mamelles hill. No verified 2025 to 2026 club calendar exists for this city. Late March brings Dakar Music Expo. November brings the carnival and the biennale.

Each sound has its own page: what it is, its tempo where a source gives one, where it comes from and who carried it.

The scene

Dakar is more of an experimental-electro and 'Neo Dakar' art-scene story than a club-techno one: Ibaaku (Alien Cartoon, Neo Dakar series), Guiss Guiss Bou Bess (sabar plus synthetic layers) and Ndox Electrique (n'doep ritual electro, but founded by French/Italian musicians) are the best-documented acts. Ibaaku says club DJs mostly play amapiano and afro-house. We found no verified 2025-26 Dakar electronic club calendar.
