Pulse
The lit Lekki-Ikoyi bridge across the Lagos lagoon at night, a speaker and a DJ table on wet concrete by a warehouse door.

Lagos raves dropped the table. A dark auditorium in Lekki, a stage, strobes, one small bar and an open floor: Group Therapy put thousands in it on 28 February 2026 at 21,000 naira a ticket. Element House sells out monthly on Victoria Island, Mainland House runs its own nights in Yaba and Ikeja, and Flat 8 takes a boat to Tarkwa Bay. Most of what plays is Afro house, Afro-tech and 3-step rather than purist techno, and much of it shares the address late. December is when everyone comes home; the big shows fall between about the 13th and the 28th. The New Afrika Shrine is nine kilometres away in Ikeja, a different night altogether.

Sounds of Lagos

Each sound has its own page: what it is, its tempo where a source gives one, where it comes from and who carried it.

The scene

Lagos is the most visibly booming house/techno/rave scene in the region: since about 2022 DJs have blended Afro sounds into house (post-amapiano crossover) and a rave circuit has grown as a cheaper alternative to table-service clubs. Group Therapy (founded by Aniko) drew thousands in Lekki on 28 Feb 2026 at 21,000 naira a ticket, Element House sells out monthly (the 2-3 Oct 2026 edition is sold out), and a second layer (Ilé Ijó, Mainland House, cruise/freebeat via DJ Tobzy) is feeding Nyege Nyege and Boiler Room. Caveat: much of the 'house' crowd is Afro-house/Afrotech/3-step in an Afrobeats-adjacent party economy rather than purist techno.

Why it sits at heat 9
Thousands at Group Therapy (AP, 6 Mar 2026), Aniko on Mixmag's Breakthrough DJs 2025 list, three Boiler Room Lagos sessions in Apr 2024-Dec 2025, Element House sold out for 2-3 Oct 2026, new mainland scenes (Mainland House, Ilé Ijó), and Rampa/Keinemusik and Nyege Nyege visiting.
