The room
Cross the Ping on Nawarat Bridge and San Pa Koi Road is on the far side, in Wat Ket, about two kilometres from Deaf Shop. Number 46/1 is a laid-back café by day and a cocktail bar by night, packed with retro games and consoles, mostly Japanese, which is the first thing you notice and the thing the name is about. The bar stools face the decks. That detail is the one that puts it on these pages.
DJ Bird brought his vinyl collection here from his former bar, First Press: jazz, funk and city pop at the core, with hip-hop, house and electro added since. Some of the records are for sale. Social, and loud when it wants to be.
Who made it
The people
DJ Bird, whose First Press collection this is. No opening date is published for the current room.
Which night
The night
A night with a visiting DJ. Travelling DJs play styles from funk to drum and bass almost every night, and the stools face them. A cocktail at the stools. The hours are odd and the source disagrees with itself: 10:00 to midnight, and Time Out says both open daily and closed Monday. The Monday closure is the safer reading, and no 2026 source has settled it.
Insider tip
Walk in knowing
Take a stool facing the decks and ask what is for sale. Cross the river by Grab; the walk over Nawarat Bridge is thirty minutes.
