In the room
The room
BTS Phloen Chit connects straight into the Rosewood, and the lift takes you to the thirtieth floor. The hotel styles Lennon's on a 1970s home recording studio: warm brown tones, glass to the skyline, a cigar lounge off to the side. The collection runs past 6,000 records with blues, jazz and classical at the core, and guests are invited to browse and request them with the staff. It is the one room on these pages where you look down on the city rather than along a soi.
Be clear what it is. A hotel cocktail bar first, a listening room second, and the hotel says so. There is no silence rule. There is a dress code, smart casual and closed footwear, and a minimum age of twenty, which no other door in this set bothers with.
Who made it
The people
Rosewood Hotels, which runs the building. Nobody at the bar is named in the sources, and the programme is the hotel's.

An openly licensed photograph of the neighbourhood, not of the bar. The room has not supplied a picture yet.
Which night
The night
The hotel publishes the week: oldies on Thursday, jazz on Friday, pop on Saturday, guitar and saxophone sessions on Sunday. Friday is the night. Music-inspired cocktails at hotel prices. Hours are 17:00 to midnight daily on the hotel's own page; Time Out says 18:00. The hotel wins. Reserve through the hotel's page, by phone, or by email, which again no other room here requires.
Insider tip
Walk in knowing
Friday for jazz. Book a table, wear closed shoes, and ask to browse the 6,000 records: the hotel says you can.
Why it fits
Why it is in the atlas
A hotel bar that admits it is a hotel bar, with 6,000 records, a published weekly programme and a view thirty floors up. Included so the set is honest about where the money went.
