In the room

The room

Samlarn Road runs along the inside of the Old City's western wall, and number 33 is Khun Pik's bistro, opened in 2025. The slogan is on the front: Food, Drink, Vinyl, in that order, and the order is accurate. The lounge holds Pik's large LP collection with staff who tend the records, and the people eating choose what plays. There is a garden. The burgers are the menu. Nobody hurries you.

It is the only room on these pages where the record is chosen by the table rather than the house, which makes it either the least pure listening room in Chiang Mai or the most democratic, depending on what you put on.

Who made it

The people

Khun Pik, whose collection it is. Time Out quotes the line that does the work of a house rule: bring your own vinyl next time.

Which night

The night

Early, to eat, then east through the walled city to Deaf Shop, twenty minutes on foot or a five-minute Grab. A burger and the record you want to hear with it. Daily, 18:00 to midnight, in the August 2025 listing; no 2026 source has confirmed the hours.

Insider tip

Walk in knowing

Eat first, pick the record second, and take the owner at his word: bring a record of your own next time.

Why it fits

Why it is in the atlas

A bistro that puts vinyl third in its own slogan and still lets the table choose the record. The atlas keeps it as the Old City's eating stop with a collection.
