Hearing music in Bulgaria
Meadows in the Mountains was a three-day festival set into the meadows above the village, reached by a single road. The music ran from house and disco to Balkan folk and ambient, and the Sunrise Stage faced east over the valley so the morning sets met the first light.
There is nothing to book: the last edition ran in June 2023, the 2024 edition did not take place, and the 2025 edition was cancelled (DJ Mag and Mixmag, April 2025). The page stays in the atlas as a record of a festival that shaped the small mountain-festival idea in Europe.

Where was Meadows in the Mountains?
Just outside the village of Polkovnik Serafimovo in the Rhodope mountains of southern Bulgaria, near the Greek border. A 2018 preview put the site at about 850 metres above sea level.
