The experience

Meadows in the Mountains took place above Polkovnik Serafimovo, a small village high in the Rhodope mountains of southern Bulgaria. It ran from 2011 to 2023, with stages set into the meadows and programming that moved from Balkan folk into house and disco. The Sunrise Stage faced east, and the morning sets were timed for the light coming up over the valley. The village hosted the festival and families cooked for visitors. The 2025 edition was cancelled and the organisers said they were preparing to file for bankruptcy, so the festival has ended. The atlas keeps it as a record.
