The experience

Templo Mayor is a place to visit, not a named music venue. It is the excavated temple of the Mexica capital Tenochtitlan, dedicated to Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc, beside the Zócalo, the main plaza of Mexico City. Workers laying electrical cable in 1978 struck the great Coyolxauhqui stone disk, and the excavation that followed brought the ruins back into the open air; a museum was built on the site in 1987. The atlas includes it for its setting: a Mexica temple standing in the middle of a modern capital. We could not confirm any recurring sound or music programme here, so treat any you hear about as one-off events.
