In the room
The experience
The first night is at Little Petra, where the stage is tiered into rose-coloured rock. The opening feast comes from local chefs, under a design drawn from loom heritage. The second night the road drops you into Wadi Rum. There the stage carries curved LED arches and a cosmic pod with cushioned seats you can climb inside, and a Bedouin dinner comes first. Âme's Frank Wiedemann and Jimi Jules were among the 2025 players. The judgement is simple: most festivals decorate a location, and this one is upstaged by it. Around 1,500 people is small enough that you never lose sight of the horizon, which is the point. Guests slept in Wadi Rum bubble tents and at Suncity Camp. The organiser folded transfers into its Full Experience and Music packages, and Aqaba's airport sits about 45 minutes from Wadi Rum. No 2026 edition is announced, so subscribe before you plan.

Nothing is announced for 2026, so subscribe at tithorea.com rather than book flights. Check the UK Foreign Office travel advice for Jordan before you book.
Why it fits
Why it is in the atlas
Sonic Paths features Medaina because it is one of the few electronic festivals built inside a UNESCO landscape rather than beside one. The place does the arranging. A tiered stage set into rose rock at Little Petra on the first night, an open red desert in Wadi Rum on the second. It is a room whose ceiling is the sky.

No edition has been announced as of 15 October 2026. The organiser Tithorea's site still shows May 2025 and invites visitors to subscribe for news. The 2025 edition, 21 to 26 May, was the first after a planned May 2024 date was postponed.
How do I get tickets for Medaina?
For 2025, tickets were sold on tithorea.com/jordan/tickets as Full Experience and Music packages, with Jordanian community rates via [email protected]. There were no refunds, but reservations could be transferred. Any future edition will be announced there first.
How do I get to Medaina?
Fly into Amman and drive to Petra, or take selected flights to Aqaba. The organiser puts Aqaba at about 90 minutes from Petra and 45 minutes from Wadi Rum. In 2025, transfers between Petra, Wadi Rum and the venues were included in the Full and Music packages.
Where do you sleep at Medaina?
In 2025 guests stayed in Wadi Rum's bubble tents and at Suncity Camp, with the desert sky overhead.
How many people go to Medaina?
About 1,500 in 2025, according to Wallpaper. The organiser does not publish a figure. The festival is spread across Little Petra, Petra and Wadi Rum rather than one site.
Is Medaina worth the trip?
If you care more about the setting than the line-up, yes. Reviewers describe a tiered rock stage at Little Petra and a Mars-like Wadi Rum, with about 1,500 people rather than a stadium crowd. Wait for a confirmed edition before you book.
