In the room
The experience
Lost Beach Club sits on the seafront in Montañita, the surf town on Ecuador's Ruta del Sol. Kami Tadayon built it in 2012, together with the Dharma Beach Hotel nearby, and it has grown into a two-storey room for 2,500: a sea-view terrace upstairs, a larger main room on a Funktion-One system below, and a new Infinity Room. Weekends here are not nights but marathons, running from Friday night into Monday morning, and every January the eight-day Trotamundo festival takes over. The audience is part travellers, part Ecuadorian crowd; the Pacific is right there when you step out for air.
