WOMADelaide returns to Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla in Adelaide from 5 to 8 March 2027, its 35th anniversary edition. The festival has been held in the park since 1992, with stages spread beneath old Moreton Bay figs.
The first announcement brings Underworld, the Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, Tinariwen, Leon Bridges, Madness and the Québec duo Angine de Poitrine, with more artists to come. It is a fair picture of what WOMADelaide does well: desert blues and West African song on the same weekend as British dance music and a ska institution.
Early bird tickets went on sale in August and are sold by the day on the organiser's site. Note the dates: in 2027 the festival falls on the first weekend of March, not the second. Early March in Adelaide is still warm, so bring shade and water for the afternoons.
