WOMAD Aotearoa returns to New Plymouth, in Taranaki, from 12 to 14 March 2027, the organiser confirms. Since 2003 its home has been the Bowl of Brooklands in Pukekura Park, a natural amphitheatre cut into native bush, with the main stage facing a small lake and the crowd on grass banks rising to the fern groves.
No artists or ticket details are out yet. The organiser says more announcements are coming soon and asks people to join its newsletter to hear first, so this page will change; its 2027 page does not yet name the site, though Brooklands has hosted every recent edition.
The atlas page has the detail on the Bowl and the smaller Dell Stage among the rhododendrons, where the quieter acts play. Bring a blanket and stay for sunset, when the lake catches the western light.
