Vodun Days returns to Ouidah, on the coast of Benin, from 2 to 9 January 2027. It is the fourth edition, and the official site lists the grand Vodun ceremony with high dignitaries, Vodun Hounvè dances, outings of the Zangbeto and Egungun, a procession honouring the deities, a giant concert, a traditional music concert and open-air concerts by the sea.
This year it is longer. Bénin Web TV reported in August that the government has stretched the event from three days to seven, partly to keep diaspora visitors in the country into the second week of January. The traditional religions holiday falls on 7 and 8 January 2027, so those are the days to be there if you can only manage a few.
No performers are named yet, and the site gives no day-by-day schedule. The atlas page for Ouidah covers the town and the tradition; check vodundays.bj for the programme before you book flights.
