The Vienna Philharmonic plays its New Year's Concert in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein at 11:15 on 1 January 2027, and for the first time it will be conducted by Tugan Sokhiev. The same programme is played twice before it: a preview performance on 30 December at 11:00 and the New Year's Eve concert on 31 December at 19:30.
Tickets for all three were allocated by an online draw on the orchestra's website in February 2026, so this edition is spoken for. The draw prices ran from €40 to €1,320 for 1 January, €30 to €980 for New Year's Eve and €25 to €545 for the preview, and the orchestra says the draw is the only way to get them. Last time it opened in February; watch wienerphilharmoniker.at for the next one.
Vienna Tourism says the concert reaches more than 150 countries and some 50 million viewers, with ORF2 and Ö1 carrying it live. The Golden Hall opened in 1870 and seats 1,744; its atlas page has the rest, including how to hear the orchestra there on an ordinary night.
