The Rajasthan International Folk Festival returns to Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur from 22 to 26 October 2026, run under the aegis of the Mehrangarh Museum Trust. It is timed to Sharad Purnima, which the festival calls the brightest full moon of the year, and it has been held at the fort since 2007.
The music comes from Rajasthan's folk traditions, played by musicians whose families have carried these songs for generations, with guests from further afield. Concerts run in and around the fort, and the full schedule is published on the festival's site.
Mehrangarh was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha and rises about 122 metres above the plains, which is what makes it one of the great stages in the atlas. Its page covers getting to Jodhpur and the October heat, which still reaches the mid-30s by day.
